A sheltered little bay just west of Cefalù that's well worth a stop. The water is calm, clear, and warm, which makes it ideal for snorkeling — head for the rocky edges of the bay and you'll find plenty of fish rather than the seaweed in the middle. There's a free public stretch if you just want to throw down a towel, plus a paid section where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas. A few bars and restaurants right on the sand sort you out for a cold drink, a panino, or a slice of pizza without leaving the beach, and there are lifeguards, showers, and toilets too. Knock off a couple of points for limited space and parking that fills up fast — but arrive early and it's a brilliant spot.
Directions
From Cefalù old town, head west on the SS113 for about 3 km; the bay is signposted near the seafront campsite. If you're on the A20 Palermo–Messina motorway, take the Cefalù exit, follow signs toward the town, then continue west on the SS113. You can park along the road on either side of the beach, but it's tight, so get there early.
