Lunch is the main meal - Restaurants serve their best food at lunch, and it's often cheaper
Look for "menu del giorno" - The daily menu is always fresh and good value
Avoid tourist menus - If it has photos, keep walking
Ask for local wine - "Vino della casa" is usually excellent and cheap
Riposo is real - Most places close 3-7pm, plan accordingly
